This study aims to improve basic movement skills through the play method in Ngaran Elementary School students in the 2017/2018 academic year.
This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles, which is divided into planning and then proceeding with the implementation of the action, followed by observation, and finally reflection. The research subjects are third grade students of SD Ngaran for the 2017/2018 academic year, which opens 20 students and is divided into 7 boys, 13 girls..
Sources of research data are teachers and students, by observing and assessing learning outcomes of children's basic movements as data collection. Data analysis used qualitative analysis with percentages.
The results of the study stated that through the play method, the basic movements of children's skills from each cycle experienced a good increase. Pre-cycle data shows a lack of basic movement skills in children at their age. Then the data in the first cycle experienced an increase in graduation by 15% and increased again by 20% during the second cycle.
The conclusion of this study is that the play method can improve learning outcomes of Basic Movement Skills for Children at SD Ngaran for the 2017/2018 academic year, especially for third graders.
