Penguatan Literasi Siswa Sekolah Dasar melalui Pendampingan Implementasi Bahan Ajar Digital Interaktif dengan Media Book Creator di SDN Mojosari

Abstract

The literacy skills of Indonesian students remain an unresolved issue, as evidenced by the decline in Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) scores in reading. This community service project aims to assist teachers at SDN Mojosari in implementing interactive digital teaching materials based on local wisdom; developed using the Book Creator platform; into actual classroom instruction to strengthen students’ literacy skills. The activity was carried out in three phases: preparation; implementation over four sessions across six classes; and evaluation, involving six representative teachers from first through sixth grade. The results showed that teachers’ activities in guiding the use of Book Creator developed gradually, ranging from introducing features to facilitating learning assessments, which was followed by increasingly positive student responses in terms of technical skills, confidence in expressing opinions, and reading comprehension. Ongoing support from the community service team also helped teachers overcome technical challenges in the classroom, enabling them to conduct Book Creator-based learning more independently. This activity concluded that the implementation of interactive digital teaching materials based on local wisdom effectively strengthens students’ literacy while enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competencies in utilizing learning technology.
