ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH FISIKA PADA MATERI DINAMIKA ROTASI MENGGUNAKAN METODE EKSPERIMEN
Abstrak
The research aims to analyze students' physics problem solving abilities in rotational dynamics material, because rotational dynamics material is material that is close to everyday life. In learning, students are not only required to master concepts but also apply the concepts they have understood in solving physics problems, including the problem of rotational dynamics of rolling objects. The use of appropriate learning methods is expected to support success in learning. This research uses an experimental method in learning which is expected to have a good effect on students' problem solving abilities. However, the research results show that students' problem solving abilities are still relatively low, with details; identifying problems 43%, determining equations 32%, using equations 28%, and evaluating solutions 21%. The average problem solving ability is 31% which indicates the low category. This turned out to be caused by students' understanding of the concept regarding rotational dynamics material which was still low, even though contextually students had carried out experiments according to the concept. In general, the difficulties experienced by students on the topic of discussing rotation dynamics are influenced by the mastery of concepts in students' initial knowledge. Besides that, students are not yet able to differentiate the concepts of translational motion and rotational motion and have difficulty understanding the new quantities contained in rotational motion.
